My beautiful girls

While were in NC we took the kids to the beach and they loved it. One thing that NC is known for is their beautiful blue skies, and they truly are beautiful!! It made for the perfect backdrop to capture my beautiful girls.

Back from North Cacalacky...

So this past weekend the kids and I packed up and took a little road trip down to good ole' North Carolina to take pictures for my good friend Amber's 26th birthday. Yes it was an interesting trip to say the least. I am from the South, but there are different variations of the South, some obviously being more rural then others and I definitely was driving through the rural parts. The scenery was beautiful, I loved the old barns and the cute little towns. On my way there I found two spots that I definitely wanted to take pictures at. One being an old metal farm shed and the other being a run down abandoned store. I love places like that, that has a lot of character to it. So Friday night we got all 5 of her outfits together and we headed out for her photoshoot. The first place we went to was the old store. We found some interesting characters there. The windows were boarded up and all kinds of insect inhabitants were around. I had to take a picture of what was above her head most of the time. If you click on the pic you will see the spiders legs coming out of the hole. Besides our little spidey friend we also had ants crawling everywhere, including our legs and up to our thigh.

We finished up and then went to the barn shed which was off the side of the road, tucked into cornfields. I laughed at the way Amber was changing her outfits, trying to find a way to do it without getting caught by the many cars and trucks that were passing by. Our shoot was going good in this area and then all of a sudden an older hispanic man rode by on his bike. When he saw us he stopped and tried to tell us something. He pointed at Amber and then pointed at me, then pointed at the grass and made a sign of lawn sheers. Yes I know it sounds confusing, you could imagine how we felt. We didn't really care what he was saying, we just took it as a que to get out of there. He waited until we were in the car driving off before he rode off himself.

Our last stop was the beach on Camp Lejeune Marine base. This was probably the most interesting part of our trip. While there I got Amber to cut loose and get in the water fully clothed. That definitely caught the attention of some men and Marine's that were partying on the beach. They wanted to know if they could get their pictures taken so we indulged them and snapped a couple. They later joked about me photoshopping a mustache or something worse and then posting them all over the internet. Although tempted...I told them I would never do such a thing..lol. So here are the rest at the beach, and one of the Marine's we met..Josh.

New contest to start soon!!!

So August is almost to an end and I promise I didn't forget about the Next Kids Top Model contest. This month was a busy one for my family and so I wasn't able to get the contest rolling..sooo starting tomorrow and until September 1st I will be accepting pictures for October's model . And because my schedule is always really busy I will now be doing the contest every other month. Now there will be new rules to my contest, so that it will be fair to everyone. Instead of having a voting tracker on my site enabling one person to vote over and over again, you will now be voting ONCE a day in the comments section of my blog. In order to do this you must go to my comments section underneath the post and write the name of the child you wish to vote for. You also must sign in with your name, I will not be taking any anonymous votes. Please rememeber only one vote per person each day. If I find out that the same person is voting more then once a day I will give you a warning, if it persists I will have to disqualify the child so please ask everyone you know to follow the rules. Now that all that is said and done I would like to remind you of what your child will get if they win. You will recieve a **free** photosession at the location of your choice (within 20 miles of the Hampton Roads area). You must be able to book the session around the middle of September so I have time to edit the pictures and have them ready by the first of October. Once the pictures are ordered I will pick one and use it on my blog banner for the month of October. So goodluck to all ofyou and I hope you all decide to enter!
*edited to add....please email the pictures of your children to mayacreations4@yahoo.com*

More Vacation Pics!!

So I brought my *baby* with me on our trip and really wanted to use it to photograph our vacation, but once on the cruise ship I was terrified to take it out and possibly break it. Yes I am talking about my camera. I mean that is my life right there and if it were to break well I can't afford to replace it right now, so I actually broke down and bought a disposable camera!!! Let me tell you it killed me to use them. First off only being limited to 27 pictures each, I mean I can take at least 100 shots in one sitting! So I had to be mindful of each shot I took and then pray they came out since i couldn't check it on my lcd monitor!! Anywho, I think I did okay with the disposables. Here are some pictures from Key West and some from the Bahamas. I have one more camera to develop then i'll have all our pics from the trip.

Back home and ready to go back!!

Wow what a vacation!!! We had a wonderful, relaxing time and I hate that it is over. We went on a wonderful 5 day cruise to Key West and the Bahamas. I was so fortunate to have my parents and our good friends from Washington join us. We are so hooked on cruising now!! I loved the pampering, the food, the drinks (my favorite being the Miami Vice and Chocolate cake shots), the dancing, the singing and just enjoying everyone's company. We also fell in love with the Bahamas (who wouldn't) and hope to someday go back and stay at the Atlantis!! It was just the most wonderful vacation and it is what my family needed after being separated for from daddy for 6 months. He just left today for 2 weeks and although it's only 2 weeks we miss him so much already!!! So enjoy the pictures and I look forward to getting back to taking pictures!!

Busy, busy, busy...

I have been so lucky to be so busy lately! I LOVE meeting new people and taking pictures of beautiful people! This week I have had 2 shoots and I am fast at editing them so that they will be done by next week. So here are just a couple from 2 different shoots.

These boys look familiar don't they. Kelly brought these handsome boys in to have their pictures taken for their 3rd and 1st birthday. We got some great shots and here are just a couple. I'll have a real sneak peak for you Kelly in a couple of days!

And here is my first maternity shoot in a long while. This couple was referred to me by my dear friend Julie and I was over the moon to meet them!! They are the cutest family and they are going to have the most precious baby. I pray they will bring him back to me to photograph! I was too excited to wait to edit these, so enjoy the couple i've done so far. I will also have more of a sneak peak for you later...
