Beauty in HD

One of the things I love about my job is the fashion!!! I love makeup and clothes and accessories....so this shoot was right up my alley! I partnered up with Victoria Goldberg, owner of Beauty in HD to create these beautiful looks! We spent nine hours shooting and although alot of work and time went into this..we really had a great time!

Rachael was our first model, she's an actress and has done a little modeling. She is definitely a natural!

Amberly is also an actress who has worked with Rachael in previous projects. She was so cute and shy, but definitely brought some fierce pics!

Kaytlynne was Miss Teen DC World up until today, where she had to relinguish it over to the new crown holder! We clicked quickly and I loved being able to capture her in her beautiful sash and crown!

Thanks ladies for your time and amazing pictures!

he loves me...the driveway proves it!!

Aww my Mayson is the most cuddly little love bug, always has been. Thankfully even at 8 he's not afraid to show mommy how much he loves me! He surprised me with his driveway art..and of course it melted my heart. It was a little difficult to get a good picture, unfortunately i grabbed my 85mm lens and had to quickly take this shot before our neighbors came home and parked in his art! But at least I did capture something that I can show him when he's 16 and hates me...lol

*sigh* my little girl...

She's 5, she's the youngest of 4, and her personality is one of a 20 something!! She's my baby girl, and she is so full of life you can't help but to smile when you're around her!! She has loved taking pictures since she entered this world..and as she gets older her ability to pose has gone from a cute 5 year old, to a professionaly trained model. So of course she loves when I have photo shoots that she's allowed to hang out for. She was big eyed and curious as she watched my client Suzie pose for her 50's barbie shoot, and when Suzie was done she thought it would be cute to put some of her accessories on Bella. She LOVED this of course and i knew i had to capture it...little did I know she would take it to the level she did..with Suzie's help of course!

Here is Suzie getting Bella all "dolled" up...

and now onto some of her poses...lol

Such a cute family...

Mom should look familiar...she's my hippie client I shot a few weeks ago. We hit it off so well that she wanted to bring her family back for portraits. I have to say as soon as I met little Nia...i fell in love! She was just the sweetest baby who allowed me to put her in all kinds of poses and she just sat there and smiled at her daddy. I hope mom and dad bring her back to me for more pictures in the future...this little girl is an absolute doll!!

funny shots of my kiddos and dad

My dad, the character..such a funny guy. He's such an awesome papa to my kids and they love being around him! So when i gathered them together for pictures I wasn't suprised that they kept giving me one silly picture after the other. I am so happy with how they came out though...my kids and my dad being their funny, silly selves!

and more...

here are a few more. These were taken yesterday on Easter...loved every moment of it!

Greatest works of art...

That would be my children. All parents feel a great sense of pride for their children, but there is something about being able to capture your child's true beauty. I love being a photographer for this reason alone. To be able to see your child from behind the lens is a truly amazing feeling. I know I am making the memories that one day will be so precious to me. So without further ado...here are my four babies...beautiful, unique and precious to me..

Barbies through the decades

I,like many girls LOVED my barbies when i was younger. So I was super excited when I saw the My Favorite Barbie series come out. My favorite was the peaches n' cream barbie from 1984. All the memories of that time in my life came flooding back to me when I came across the barbie while Christmas shopping. So naturally it inspired me to want to do a shoot to represent a barbie from each decade. I have the first two decades covered...now i'm looking for someone to represent 1970-1990! If interested email me at mayacreations4@yahoo.com

Alice in Wonderland

So who didn't love the quirkiness of Alice in Wonderland when you were a kid? I know it was a movie that i didn't truly get as a kid, and honestly don't really get it now..but there was always something so magical about it. Now with the Tim Burton version out in theatres i've noticed alot of Wonderland inspired shoots so i wanted to try my hand at it. I love taking a concept and making it my own and with the help of a very creative model i was able to recreate my own Wonderland. Here are a few that i've edited so far. This model Yohelisa styled herself and added her own "Alice" elements into her outfits. This was definitely a fun shoot to do and I look forward to editing more of these!

Yay..i came back to blog today..

So today i want to talk about insipiration. As a photographer we draw inspiration from all over the place. I can be driving down the road and see something that will make me stop and take pictures on the spot. Or it can be in the form of other artists. A friend of mine put me on to this incredible blog... http://colormekatie.blogspot.com/ this extremely creative, child like, little lady makes you want to just live in her world for a day. The way she looks at life and tries to change the negatives into positives is so infectious that i could look at her blog all day!! She makes me want to start cutting up paper and just redecorating my entire world to look a little happier, a little brighter. Thank goodness for creative people...they can make you look at the world in such a different light!!

Another form of creativity is music. This 16 year old is determined to teach herself to play this guitar and has already done an amazing job with it. I love seeing youth finding what their passion is at such a young age..

So sorry...

It has been hard to keep up with blogs, and facebook, and websites...i haven't been able to work on this blog as much as i've wanted to. But looking at it i see how proud i am of my work. I need to keep up with this to show my clients what i can do, how much pride i take in capturing their lives. So I will try my absolute best to keep up with this, update with pictures and specials i am running. And hopefully in time I will get a good following on here. My clients will use this to share with their families the pictures that make them so happy. Thanks for those who have checked up on here to see if i've updated...i hope i don't disappoint you..

Here is my share for the day...my youngest's 5th birthday...i just love this capture!
